STUDIO 56

At Northpark, we strive to provide a place where everyone feels at home. Preteens are no exception and that’s why we have a unique program just for 5th and 6th graders called STUDIO 56.

In the January/February 2007 issue of Children’s Ministry Magazine, Christine Yount Jones wrote, “Preteens just don’t fit in ministries not made for them…plain and simple, they’re an age all their own. They think differently, act differently, relate differently, and learn differently. Spiritually, they’re ready for something deeper than children’s ministry, but aren’t quite ready to be exposed to some of the tough truths of youth ministry.”

We believe very strongly in this, and that’s why STUDIO 56 is the place where preteens are the stars of God’s story! The goals of Studio 56 are to lead students into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; realizing that He is their savior and best friend, and to give preteens the tools they need to move them from their parents’ faith to a place where they can take ownership of their own relationship with Christ and grow in their personal walk.

Engaging Curriculum

Our STUDIO 56 curriculum is developed to give preteens the tools they need to move them from their parents’ faith to a place where they can take ownership of their own relationship with Christ. Students will learn to turn to the Bible as the ultimate authority. We want to teach them that what God breathed into the Bible is true from beginning to end; it’s full of life principles, and those principles work!

Small Groups

We believe very strongly in small group discussion and study as an integral part of our STUDIO 56 program. At this age, relationships are key! Students are searching for stability in relationships and they desire to be heard. They are more likely to feel as if their ideas, thoughts, feelings, and opinions matter if they are working in a small group rather than being one in a sea of faces.

Fun

It is our goal to provide a fun, playful and safe atmosphere where preteens can interact with each other, as well as with caring, interested adults. Games, crafts, awesome Christian music, movie-themed décor and snacks make STUDIO 56 the place to be on Sunday mornings.

Special Events

Building relationships with each other is part of Northpark’s vision. This is impossible to do if we just meet together on Sunday mornings. So, in addition to our Sundays, we also meet together for fun special events like movie nights, bowling, swim parties, concerts and game nights.
