What Is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith.
Each session looks at a different question that people can have about faith and is designed to create conversation. It’s just an open, informal and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.
Is this class for you?
YES!
Wherever you are on your faith journey – if you are just curious about Christianity, a new believer in Christ or a long time Christian – this is for you!
Children & Youth classes will follow the same themes, allowing families an opportunity for greater discussion at home.
There will be instruction and opportunities to discuss and ask questions about important topics such as:
- What is life about?
- Who is Jesus and why did He die?
- Why and how should I pray?
- Why and how do I read the Bible?
- Who is The Holy Spirit?
- How do I make the most of life?
- How do I resist evil?
- How can I share my faith?
- What about healing?
This is a great opportunity to invite friends, neighbors and family members to explore questions they may have about faith, life and God.

What Should I Expect?
First up there’s
Food
Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other. We provide a complete dinner for you and your family, allowing you to relax and enjoy your time here!
Then a
Talk
The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Pastor Bekah Townsend will be presenting each night’s teaching. We will explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?
Followed by
Discussion
Probably the most important part of Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
